SHOWS NOW ON: JAMES RIGLER AND REBECCA ACKROYD UNTIL 4 MAY

Some superb pictures by Philip Sayer here from our current shows; James Rigler in our main gallery and Rebecca Ackroyd's 'Gross Weight' in the Project Space. Rigler describes 'The Fading City' as being inspired by 'thoughts of ruined and abandoned ancient places, romantic landscapes and stage sets'. His exceptional objects have a wistful yet emphatic presence. Meanwhile, Ackroyd uses the languages of drawing and sculpture to define and distil the characteristics of overlooked things until they emerge as something quite vivid. In this incredible series of works her reference points are items of utility and adornment.

Both shows continue to 4 May.

NEW SHOWS NOW OPEN: JAMES RIGLER'S 'THE FADING CITY' AND REBECCA ACKROYD'S 'GROSS WEIGHT'

Our new shows are now open and will continue until 4 May.

James Rigler makes his bold debut in our main gallery as the latest addition to the Marsden Woo Gallery artist stable with his exhibition 'The Fading City'. Meanwhile, in our Project Space, emerging artist Rebecca Ackroyd explores the relationship between sculpture and drawing in her show 'Gross Weight'.

LAST CHANCE TO SEE: GORDON BALDWIN AND JOHN RAINEY

This is the final week of our current exhibitions. Both Gordon Baldwin's 'Vessels in White and Black' (main gallery) and John Rainey's 'Hyper Activity: Scenes From An Other Reality' (project space) will end this Saturday 16 March. We have had a wonderful response to the shows from both visitors and press, so be sure to see them before they close!

MARSDEN WOO GALLERY AT DESIGN DAYS DUBAI, 18 - 21 MARCH 2013

Marsden Woo Gallery is proud to be taking part in the second annual Design Days Dubai fair, as part of an initiative organised by the British Crafts Council. Works presented from Marsden Woo Gallery will be by artists including Ken Eastman, Chun Liao, Robert Marsden and Martin Smith.

RUPERT ACKROYD EXHIBITING AT 'THE WORLD IS ALMOST SIX THOUSAND YEARS OLD', LINCOLN

Marsden Woo Gallery associated artist Rupert Ackroyd is currently showing at Lincoln’s Collection Museum as part of 'The World is Almost Six Thousand Years Old: Contemporary Art and Archaeology From The Stone Age to The Present'. The exhibition extends across five venues in the city of Lincoln and brings together objects from the County of Lincolnshire’s archaeological holdings with works by over twenty emerging and established contemporary artists.

Ackroyd has created one of four bespoke vitrines which contain archaeological items selected by the artists from The Collection’s holdings.

The World is Almost Six Thousand Years Old is now on and runs until 7 May. For further details please click here.
