NOW ON: CHUN LIAO 'STORIES CANNOT BE TOLD' 17 JUNE - 17 JULY 2015

We have just opened a beautiful exhibition of highly emotive blue and white thrown vessels by Chun Liao, in which the artist engages with a number of stories. While her work is often autobiographical, in this particular body of work the interpretation of these stories is left open for the viewer to decode and decipher.

This poignant series of work illustrates the artist's profound connection to her practice and deeply felt understanding of human nature.

For more information, please see the show press release here and the artist's page on our website here.

ALIDA SAYER, 'SKEINS OF NOW' AT GALLERY SAGAKHYUNG, SEOUL

Marsden Woo Gallery associated artist and creative consultant Alida Sayer has just finished a three month residency at INTERVIEWS studio and AiR programme in Andong, South Korea. From 5 - 9 June she showed Skeins of Now, an exhibition of new works produced during and in response to her experiences, at Gallery Sagakhyung in Seoul.

Skeins of Now seeks to arrest aspects of contemporary culture that speak about South Korea as it exists today, rather than how it was in the past or how it intends to be in the future. The exhibition forms a document, not only of the present moment, but also of the experience of encountering it as an outsider: one who must work to find their own form of dialogue and cultural reference points without easy access to conventional forms of spoken or written language.

For more information about the INTERVIEWS residency programme, please see our previous blog post: http://marsdenwoo.blogspot.co.uk/2015/03/marsden-woo-gallery-associated-artist.html
